A 32-year-old Nigerian, Ugwuanyi Kingsley Ugonna, has asked Cambodian authorities to help him return to Nigeria two years after his visa expired. According to a report by CambodiaExpatsOnline, Ugonna contacted Cambodia's Investigation and Procedure Office at the Immigration Department on Wednesday, September 25, 2019 to process his return to Nigeria. Ugonna had arrived Cambodia in September 2015, but he continued to live in the Asian country as an English teacher even after his visa expired in June 2017. He told officials that he hasn't been able to make enough money to renew his visa since it expired, prompting his decision to ask for help

Muhammed Aliyu, the Kogi Chairman of the Nigeria Peoples Congress (NPC) has resigned from the party and also withdrawn from the November 16th governorship election in the state.   Aliyu made the announcement in a statement today in Abuja, saying that his action was ”with immediate effect”.   He said he had sent his letter of resignation to the National Chairman of the party.  “Among several reasons for my decision, is my desire to continue to maintain the integrity with which I left the public service after 35 years of meritorious service as executive director. I discovered that the political arena is not a place where I can continue to maintain that integrity with unblemished records of service”  he said.   He thanked NPC for allowing him the opportunity to serve.

PDP chieftain, Toyin Ajinde has died in a fatal car crash. Ajinde had gone into a coma after the crash. According to reports, immediately after the crash, she was rushed to the intensive care unit of the Trauma Centre in Ondo but she gave up the ghost in the hospital. According to a family source, “Toyin had been in coma since the accident occurred and she took the brute of the impact of the injury she sustained.” Mourning her demise, Atiku Abubakar Tweeted, ' Mrs Toyin Ajinde's commitment to a better Nigeria was unparalleled. As a PDP woman leader in Ondo, she worked tirelessly to achieve this. I knew this because she was my longtime staunch supporter. I'm saddened by her loss. May her family be comforted & her soul rest in peace'.
